With the Australian Government implementing Stage 2 Restrictions to tackle COVID-19, I thought I'd take the time to give you a quick update on the state of play here at The Emporium Barber.
Firstly I need to say a huge thanks to those that have continued to support us through this unprecedented time, your patronage is greatly appreciated and your personal messages have bought a smile to our faces during this bloody hard time.
Just last night the restriction limiting our services to 30 minutes was lifted. As a result we've opened up our full service menu for you again.
Yes, that means we're still open for business. As I've mentioned in my previous communication with you our first priority is the health and safety of our staff, clients and community as a whole. As you're aware for some time now we've been implementing every possible additional hygiene practice that we can to ensure a safe environment for everyone and we will continue to do so with the guidance from the experts in this field.
Whilst we are doing everything we can here, we need you to play your part as well. Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that is not acceptable for you to attend your appointment if you are unwell or even have the slightest inclination that you should not be in our store. You play just as an important role as us in the health and safety of our staff, clients and community.
We are strictly enforcing social distancing within our stores, as outlined by the Australian Government, by adhering to the maximum number of people in our stores at any one time. Those limits are listed below:
Fortitude Valley - 13 people
King Street - 25 people
Woolloongabba - 8 people
Bondi Beach - 15 people
These are the maximum number of people, staff and clients, that are to be permitted into each of our stores at any one time. In response to this however we have greatly reduced our staffing levels and our capacity to ensure that we are will within the guidelines.
We are still selling retail, both online and in store. We've some great online specials coming up, the first of which is offered to you below. Our espresso bars are still in operation for takeaway only. Some of our regular food offers may not be available however as some suppliers have decided to halt their operations. We are still not accepting your reusable cups for your coffee, and we would prefer that you pay via your cards instead of cash, we make no apologies for those.
If you follow us on Social Media you might have seen the other day that I posted about the behaviour of a customer towards one of our staff. I will not tolerate in any circumstance our staff being abused verbally for implementing the restrictions that we have in place to ensure the health and safety of our staff, clients and community.
Whilst adhering to the requirement we must now act under, we are trying to keep as many of our staff employed with as many hours as possible. As you are probably aware we have quite a few staff from overseas that as it stands have no financial support if we have to cease trading. We're also doing as much as we can to support our fellow small businesses.
Tonight in our King Street store we're excited to be able to host the guys from City Winery here in Brisbane. We'll be offering a glass of their Gerler wine with a haircut and there will be a Haircut and Bottle of wine special on for $70 so you can take the wine home when your finished. No dramas if you don't need a tidy up either. They'll be basically running a cellar door type operation where you can grab a bottle of wine and some cheese/charcuterie to take home. We'd love you to then grab a takeaway meal from one our of neighbours on the street, there's some great options for you to choose from.
Again thanks for the support you've shown us, we look forward to seeing you in store soon, whether it be for a cut, coffee, bottle of wine or even your name pop up on an online order.
Lastly as I've mentioned in my last email, where it's safe for you to do so, please support your local small businesses. We're all doing it tough at the moment which means so are our staff, suppliers and the many other people and business that are involved in providing our products and services to our communities. If you want us to be here when we come out of the other side of this we're going to need your support.
